A wonderful stoneware vessel by Byron Temple. Temple, originally from Indiana, apprenticed under ceramicist Bernard Leach in St. Ives from 1959 to 1961, where he learned to develop his own style and create functional pots.

This hand thrown piece has a textural, matt finish to the exterior with a decorative band featuring a glossy, mottled glaze which is repeated on the rim and interior. Temple’s impressed backstamp is evident.

In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or loss of glaze.
