A hand-thrown stoneware bowl by Colin Kellam dating from the late 1960s. Kellam began his creative journey as assistant to Marianne de Trey at Shinners Bridge Pottery, Dartington from 1960 to 1967, before setting up his own studio at the Lion Brewery, Totnes.

The outer bowl has an incised motif and is decorated with brown and mustard yellow glazes. The inner bowl is decorated with a ‘mottled’ mustard yellow glaze. The exposed stoneware base bears the maker’s impressed backstamp.

In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or loss of glaze.
