One of two large stoneware lamps handmade by Alex Svendsen for Søholm Stentøj, one of the largest and longest surviving potteries on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. Dating from the 1960s, the underside of each base includes the design number (3070) and is stamped and initialled. Each lamp is fully functional - one is in excellent condition and the other has a small section of cracked glaze as shown in the photos.
