Rustic Stools by Wanderwood
A pair of solid wood stools each featuring a thick, hand carved seat sitting on three splayed legs. The first of the two stools features wedge joints whereby each leg comes up through the seat and is fixed with a wedge inserted into a notch; there are no screws or nails. The ends of the leg and wedge are then cut off to create a secure joint, with the top of each leg visible from above. The legs on the second stool are attached using a slightly more naïve fixture - elm supports which are screwed into place.
One of the legs on the first of the two stools is slightly wobbly and also displays evidence of historic wood worm (as shown in the images). Also, two of the wedge joints are slightly raised, but overall the stool is weight-bearing, fully functional and in good vintage condition. The second stool is structurally sound and stable and in very good vintage condition.
The metal ‘Wanderwood’ badge is evident on the underside of each stool.
