Walnut ‘C Range’ Chest of Drawers, John and Sylvia Reid
Designed by John and Sylvia Reid for The Stag Cabinet Co. Ltd, Nottingham, the Stag Cumberland range - or ‘C Range’ as it was latterly known - was aimed at the optimistic younger generation emerging from post-war austerity. This ‘C Range’ four drawer chest is constructed from plywood/blockboard and veneered in Australian walnut with contrasting ebonised edging. Each of the drawer fronts houses a cut away handle and the chest itself stands on turned, solid oak, ebonised legs. The original advertising label is evident to the rear and the ‘Stag Furniture’ badge is fixed to the inside of one of the drawers.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition - all of the drawers run smoothly and there is no loss of/splits to the veneer.
