Designed by John and Sylvia Reid for The Stag Cabinet Co. Ltd, Nottingham, the Stag Cumberland range - or ‘C Range’ as it was latterly known - was aimed at the optimistic younger generation emerging from post-war austerity. This ‘C Range’ three drawer chest is constructed from solid oak and oak-veneered plywood/blockboard. Each of the drawer fronts houses a cut away handle and the chest itself stands on turned, solid oak legs.

All in all this piece is in good vintage condition and fully functional - all of the drawers run smoothly. There are some small losses to the veneer in places (and evident on close inspection) as shown in the images. The ‘Stag Furniture’ badge which is usually affixed to the inside of one of the drawers is not evident.
