Windsor Quaker Rocking Chair, Ercol

Since its inception in 1920 by Lucian Ercolani, Ercol has produced an array of timeless designs, none more so than those included in its Windsor range.  Manufactured in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, this model 428 rocking chair has the recognisable oyster-shaped seat made of solid elm with beech frame and spindles.  The gold paper Ercol label is evident on the underside of the seat, dating this chair to somewhere between 1981 and 1995.

Structurally, the chair is in very good condition as one would expect from a newer piece.  There is slight scuffing to the ends of the arm rests and back ends of the rockers, and the right hand rest contains two small holes which can be seen in the last photo.  There is also a small nick to the elm seat, again shown in the photos.
